Fairey Gordons

a circle of Fairey Gordons from 35 and 207 squadrons

Bomber Command employed a number of biplanes as light bombers during the 1930s. Many of these appeared at Bircham Newton, including the Hawker Hart and the Fairey IIIF and their derivatives. The Fairey Gordon was a development of the Fairey IIIF that was fitted with a Jaguar radial engine, which was later changed to a Panther. The photograph shows a circle of Fairey Gordons of 35 and 207 squadrons at Bircham Newton in the early 1930s.
